PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING
- RHIZOMES. We ship only first size roots representative of the variety. Some varieties make huge rhizomes, while others are comparatively small. We cultivate freely and use only bone meal for fertilizer.
Postage or Express is prepaid on all orders of $3.00 or more unless otherwise stated. On orders of less than $3.00 please add 30 cents for postage and packing . Orders of less than $1.00 are not acceptable.
Terms cash with order please. You may make remittance by check, Postal or Express Money Order. Do not enclose cash unless letter is registered. No. C.O.D. shipments are made
Orders may be placed at any time with deposit of 25% of order. Balance due when plants are ready for shipment or delivery.
Late in the season it is preferable that you express a second choice as some varieties sell out early and we do not substitute with- out your permission.
Visitors are welcome at all times when the gardens are open. Our hours during blooming season are from 8 A.M. until 8 P.M. Our blooming season usually opens about May 30th and lasts two to three weeks.
Cultural Directions will be enclosed with each order.
Time of Shipment is from July 5th until late Fall. We do not make Spring shipments. Orders are filled in rotation and of course the early orders get the early shipment if so desired.
To Condense the catalogue we have placed the older varieties in two seperate lists at the back of the catalogue, and we think you will find them very interesting, both as to varieties and also prices.
On All Retail Orders of $10.00 or more you may choose 25% extra Iris free of charge. This offer does not apply to Quantity List, Special Offers, or varieties marked Net. Neither may they be chosen as premiums.
On Smaller orders we always add extra plants of our choice and we would appreciate your naming some to guide us in our choice.
OHIO CUSTOMERS MUST ENCLOSE 3% SALES TAX
Our catalogue first gives the variety name, then in paren- theses the name of the originator and date of introduction. This is followed by a brief description. If the variety has won an award this follows. Abbreviations as follows: Stds. for Standards, Brd. for beard. Awards, H. C. Highly commended, H. M. for honorable men- tion, A. M. for award of merit of which only ten are issued each year. Highest is Dykes Medal of which one is awarded each year.
We have omitted the height as that varies greatly in differ- ent areas and culture.
